This privacy notice discloses the privacy practices for terraindrop.com.

By design, TerrainDrop does not to track a lot of information about the users. Protecting data privacy is core to our platform. We do not share personal information. Any data we collect, like your IP address, time of visits, and pages accessed, is used only for analytics to improve our service. Through Google Analytics we occasionally serve advertisements on other sites to increase usership here.

If you are not a signed up user, we do not collect, store, or share any personally identifiable user data, except what you voluntarily provide through email or other direct contact. We will not sell or rent this information to anyone.

We do collect IP addresses of devices accessing our services in our server logs, as well as information like internet domains, the date and time of a visit, and the pages accessed on terraindrop.com. This information is used solely for diagnostic and analytic purposes in order to improve the services we provide.

We ONLY use anonymized data with data providers for the purposes of improving our platform.

When you sign up for any of our services – paid or otherwise – we will record specific personal information about you, such as your name, username, and email address.

We will also collect and store information about your use of our services so as to improve them. For example, we keep a log of what features are being used at any time.

We also log account and transaction history for accounting purposes, and to monitor our business activities.

We measure visitors to our website using Google Analytics, the industry standard. This records what pages you view within our site, how you arrived at our site and some basic information about your computer. All of that information is anonymous – so we don’t know who you are; just that somebody visited our site.

The information we collect from analytics helps us understand what parts of our sites are doing well, how people arrive at our site and so on. Like most websites, we use this information to make our website better.

We serve advertisements to site visitors through Google Analytics and Google Adwords. We feel Google does a great job with user privacy and GDPR compliance.

If you do not wish to receive advertisements for our services you can opt out of Google Analytics tracking or 'Decline' the use of cookies on our site.

Data Retention settings have been added to limit the duration for how long any records are held to within the legal limits.

We use Stipe as our payment processor to charge for our product. They will have access to your personal and payment information. When paying by credit card, TerrainDrop themselves do not ever have any access to your credit card details.

We share information with these companies only to the extent necessary for the purposes of processing payments you make via our website.

We may send you email notifications regarding your service (such as invoices) or which you have specifically requested (such as newsletters or notifications when map processing is started or completed). You have the ability to opt out of any of this communication at any time in the user profile.

We will never provide your personal information or email address to any third parties except where they are specifically employed to help deliver our own services, as detailed above.

Users have the right to be forgotten from TerrainDrop.

There is a button on the user profile page that will trigger the permanent deletion of all information we hold with respect to your account.

We use cookies and file logs to (i) store information so you will not have to re-enter it during your visit or in subsequent visits; (ii) maintain sessions for authenticated users; and (iii) monitor aggregate metrics such as total number of visitors and pages viewed.

Cookie consent popups will appear on the site for users in countries that have applicable data protection laws.

Where applicable, users can 'Decline' cookie use.

TerrainDrop takes many precautions to prevent the loss, misuse or alteration of your personal information. These precautions include:

  • Use of SSL encryption for all data
  • Use of temporary signed URLs for access to private data
  • Hardware stored in secured datacenters behind firewalls
  • All access to information restricted by password and/or secure key
  • Databases are encrypted
  • All passwords are encrypted (not stored in plain text anywhere)

Whilst we take great care to ensure any confidential information remains protected we cannot guarantee the security of data sent over the Internet.

Of course you are responsible for keeping your password and user details confidential. Nobody at TerrainDrop will ever ask you for your password, so please don’t trust anybody asking you for it.

We require a subpoena or court order to provide non-content user information to law enforcement, like your name, means of payment, and length of service. We will only disclose user content, including data stored, in response to a probable cause search warrant.

If we are ever forced to share your information, we’ll notify you with the full details of the request before we disclose it unless legally prohibited by law or court order.
