Required tags

In order to know where the camera is pointing at the time of the images the system requires certain tags from the images.

At a minimum, the system needs:

  • Camera Make
  • Camera Model
  • Latitude Degrees
  • Longitude Degrees
  • Altitude relative to takeoff location
  • Gimbal Roll/Pitch/Yaw
  • Aircraft Roll/Pitch/Yaw
  • Focal Length

Why isn't my camera supported?

Without the tags noted above, we have no way of knowing where the camera was looking. It is possible to add support for other cameras if there is a well synchronized log file available that knows all of the required information.

If you are a camera manufacturer or working on custom geotag insertion please reach out.

Limitations

We can only place the images as well as the tags let us. If the synchronization between the tag information and the aircraft/gimbal's actual position is off there will be offsets in the placement.

In cases where there are offsets due to turning or speed it is possible to manually readjust the image placement using the Manage Image screens.
